The Legal and Compliance Department at Kout Capital is headed by Waly Dolaty. His role is to advise on establishing funds, complex financial products, Islamic Finance instruments and setting up tax-efficient structures. Moreover, Waly leads the legal risk process within the business including KYC and AML.
Waly has vast experience in corporate law, Islamic finance, and the banking industry. Prior to joining Kout Capital, he served as Head of Legal at Q8 Capital Company (a regulated financial institution based in Kuwait) and was responsible for all legal aspects of the business. He has also served as the Deputy Head of Legal at Burgan Bank, Kuwait, where he worked with the Treasury and International Investments Departments on investment transactions and offshore funds.
Formerly, Waly worked at the law firm Baker & McKenzie and held an assistant lecturer position at Cairo University.
Waly holds a bachelor’s degree in Law, diplomas in Public Law and Intellectual Property, as well as a master’s degree in Law (LLM) and professional post-graduate diploma in Executive Management. Waly is a Certified Islamic Finance and Islamic Insurance (Takaful) Expert and member of the Egyptian Bar Association.
